Just a short paragraph about how I got into Silent Hill? I remember it well:

I had just traded in my copy of MGS for money off the collectors box set… edition thing. I rushed home hoping to play MGS for the nth time, but upon opening the case first disk I saw inside was Silent Hill. I was about 12 at the time (I know, supposedly far too young) so completely forgetting MGS I threw the disk into my Playstation. It was only a demo disk of course only containing half the school section, but I remember being so freaked out by the atmosphere, the setting, but mostly the knife wielding children (!) which I might never had seen as they were removed from the European release I later bought.
I wasn’t able to get hold of the game on release like I wanted (MGS collectors set ate all my savings at the time >.<) so I picked it up sometime later along with Final Fantasy VIII. I don't know why I remember the circumstances surrounding Silent Hill so vividly, I guess it must have scarred me... but that's why I love it

Anyway ^_^ That's my Silent Hill life story, just thought I should say I lurk the site pretty often, and have found quite a few pretty cool things thank to you;) Congrats on it reaching 12 years in one form or another! Good luck to you for the year ahead, and for the site reaching the teen years!

In celebration of this site’s 12th anniversary of being online (as of Dec 22), we are holding a contest to give away one reproduction of the Misty Day Remains of the Judgment painting in oil. It’s a small copy on stretched canvas, 11×14 inches. Will ship anywhere. I was meaning to do a contest but I lost track of time and didn’t finish the item I actually intended for the contest, so I’m substituting this instead. Winner also receives a set of James patches, sew-on embroidered patches like the ones on James’ jacket. (There are some pictures of my prototypes here.)

To enter, send a short email telling us how you got into Silent Hill. One entry per person, obviously. Email addresses will be printed out and drawn at random, and winner will be notified in a month asking for mailing address (you can include it with entry, but you don’t need to).
