I never would have thought that a Silent Hill podcast would inspire me to watch Kindergarden Cop again, haha. Interesting observation; that film was pretty popular in its day, so I guess it’s possible that Team Silent might have used it as the blueprint for your average Maine elementary school…
Rain has always been a potent element of horror, so I’m glad to hear that Downpour is hopefully using it to its advantage. At least it’ll guaranteed an appropriate SH atmosphere if utilized correctly.

You seemed confused about the name of the “stack room” key I know that my college library was referred to as “the stacks” and so was my sister’s so I think it’s another term for library key. Maybe they figured it wasn’t prevalent enough so they changed it to “library” in the final version.
As for the HD collection I believe voice overs are being redone, not just Guy Cihi’s. I find it strange he’s making a stink about this now though, considering how many times SH2 was re released before this. I wish Konami would make some sort of statement about it his claims and why they chose to redo the voices. I know it’s bumming a lot of fans out
