CONTESTS:
THE GAMES:
SH6 being developed by Vatra Games?
Report filed by nur_ein_tier Apr 11th, 2010

Apparently, Vatra Games will be doing the next Silent Hill game for Xbox and PS3.

At Konami’s press event last night in San Francisco, the company closed the show with a brief glimpse at the next Silent Hill game. The short trailer was light on specifics: a blonde man sits on the edge of a bed holding his head in his hands. The world around him morphs into a dark, deserted road in front of a dilapidated gate. The man hears a sound, turns, sees nothing, then gets attacked by something from the darkness when he turns back.

Will it be another retelling a la the divisive Shattered Memories? An entirely new entry in the series? At this point we don’t even have an official title, so it’s all conjecture.

More here.

I sure do hope it’s not a re-imagining again. I thought that worked for SHSM, but I doubt it would work again, especially for an SH2 re-imagining. I think that the reason SH1 was re-imagined was not just because they figured that would make mor people buy it, but also because people have bitched for years about the PS1 graphics of the original. (I think these people should be slapped, SH1 looked amazing for it time, but never mind that.) SH2 graphics were fine. So was everything else about SH2. Give us a new story already, people…

  1. I wouldnt be worried about another re-imagining. The story i have deduced so far is NOT silent hill 2 AT ALL. Murphy Pedliton is the name of SH8′s protagonist.

  2. I’m glad that Double Helix (Devs of the awful SH Homecoming) isn’t developing this title. But I have never heard of this company before, and it scares me. To be honest I wish Konami would just let Climax handle the development of the Silent Hill series from now on. After playing Origins, and Shattered Memories, they obviously know how a Silent Hill game should work. What I really would like, would for the Team Silent to come back, and develop. The series lost its luster when American development teams took over. While Climax has done a fantastic job, they couldn’t quite capture the feel Team Silent achieved. Double Helix failed miserably, trying to turn Silent Hill into a third person shooter style gameplay, thats not suited at all to the series.

  3. All I can say is; it’s a good game as long as it heals the boredom, but it’s a good Silent Hill game if it knows how to make you fear the unknown and hold the truth clutched to your chest while trying to see from a standpoint of what is real and what you feel is real.

Let’s see what it makes; a good game or a good Silent Hill game
